Surveillance Study Plantur 39 Active Hair Capsules

Plantur 39 Active Hair Capsules

Conducted during the hair consultation at the practice of adjunct professor Dr. med. Gerhard Lutz, Bonn-Wesseling, Germany

Method

For the clinical study, 25 test subjects aged 31 to 73 and an average age of 56 years were selected. They showed primarily symptoms of diffuse alopecia and telogen effluvium. Over a period of 16 weeks, the test subjects ingested one Plantur 39 Active Hair Capsule in the morning and one at night. This capsule is composed of trace elements, vitamins and secondary plant components. Prior to and during the study, the test subjects were not allowed to ingest or use any other nutritional supplements or hair growth-supporting products.

At the start and after two and four months respectively, hair growth was judged through a trichogram (a proven and scientifically recognized method for examining hair roots) by determining the number of anagen and telogen hairs. In addition, the principal investigator queried the tolerability of the nutritional supplement after two and four months. At the same time, the test subjects provided their subjective assessment at the start of the study and after two and four months in the form of a questionnaire-based interview by the principal investigator on hair structure, hair loss and general satisfaction.

Results

Self-assessment of the severity of hair loss by the test subjects at the start and after 2 and 4 months of application of the capsules

The influence of Plantur 39 Active Hair Capsules on hair growth was evaluated after four months. After four months of administration of the capsules, the trichogram showed a significant decrease of lost telogen hair (hair roots in their resting phase). At the same time, the number of anagen hair (hair roots in their growth phase) significantly increased.

The evaluation of the questionnaire with the subjective assessment showed that the test subjects already noticed a decrease in the severity of their hair loss after two months (Graphic 1).

After two months, 43 % of the test subjects and after four months 61 % of the test subjects had little to very little hair loss. Until the end of the study, the decrease of hair loss remained statistically significant. “Hair loss during combing” also improved for the test subjects.

Willingness to recommend the product to others, % of test subjects

The satisfaction of the test subjects with the trial medication increased with the duration of administration and was at 73.9% at the end of the study, so that in conclusion 82.6% of the test subjects said they would recommend the Plantur 39 Active Hair Capsules to others based on their effect (Graphic 2).

Summary

After pathological causes were excluded, the Plantur 39 Active Hair Capsules as a nutritional supplement can stabilize and significantly improve hair growth or hair loss in women with diffuse alopecia and telogen effluvium. This was proven by both the trichogram evaluation and the subjective assessment of the test subjects. In addition, the capsules are very well tolerated.
